CUSTOMER SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Job Description: Canarm currently has a job opening for a Customer Service Technician in its Residential Sales department. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background, superior interpersonal skills, and a dedication to customer service.
Key Duties: Answer customer emails and phone calls relating to warranty and replacement parts; Answer questions from sales and customer service department regarding warranty on Canarm products; Enter orders for replacement parts; Process return authorizations; Manage customer claims resulting from product failure; Test products in Brockville; Share product issues with Import Manager in Montreal to pass on to factories; Be the point person for all lighting and ceiling fan legislations specific to Canada and USA (i.e. NRC and DOE); Be the contact for American Lighting Association in regards to legislation; All other duties as assigned by the Vice President Retail/Commercial-Canada
Minimum requirements: College diploma or university degree in a technical program or equivalent work experience in quality control or customer service; Mechanically inclined with the ability to handle technical questions and problem solve; Excellent communication skills, written and verbal; Knowledge of ceiling fans and lighting products an asset.
JUNIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
- 12 month contract
The ideal candidate will be a Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist with experience using 3-D modelling programs. This will be a temporary full-time position with the potential of becoming permanent.
Key Duties: Transferring CAD drawings to 3D models; other duties as required by Engineering Manager.Requirements: Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering; experience with AutoCAD Inventor 2012+, Pro/Engineer Wildfire or Creo, and experience producing technical drawings.

SHIPPER / RECEIVER
Reporting, directly to the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, the successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal skills as well as a positive attitude toward customer service. They will have the ability to multi task and prioritize in a fast paced work environment and possess working experience in the following areas:
Reporting to the Engineering Coordinator, the primary objective of this position is to assess our line of agricultural equipment in order to make accurate recommendations for installation, repairs and service, as well as provide feedback and ideas on continuous improvement.
Responsibilities: Design/drafting – using SpaceClaim 3D software; Assembly and testing; Electrical wiring; Off site service to troubleshoot and repair products; PLC programming; Provide customer service (phone, in person); Assist with writing operation manuals; Some ‘on call’ service; Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Post Secondary Electronics/Automation/Mechanical Technician program (or equivalent experience); 1+ year experience in a service technician position is an asset; Excellent troubleshooting skills; Mechanical aptitude; Commitment and ability to provide outstanding customer service skills; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Independent and team based thinking and decision making; Precise data collection and storage; Creative, open minded, willing to learn and to make recommendations; Proficient in Microsoft Office products; Valid G license and current passport; Willingness to travel; PLC programming experience (structured text preferred).
Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will have the ability to work independently and within a team in a fast paced work environment. They will possess working experience in conventional metal fabrication methods such as, set-up and operation of presses, brakes, shears, laser cutters, saws, drill presses, hand tools, assembly, blue print reading, mig welding, fitting, etc, and other duties as assigned.
